The final stage of the Union State schoolchildren's Olympiad "Russia and Belarus: historical and spiritual unity" took place in Brest from October 29th to November 3rd. More than 170 students from the 10th and 11th grades, comprising 29 teams, participated in it. Among them, 120 high school students represented educational institutions from 19 regions of Russia, and over 50 students came from various regions of Belarus. The Union State Olympiad has been held since 2004 and aims to strengthen friendly ties between the youth of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation.

The tasks of the competition belong to two directions: "Russian Language" and "Russian Literature" and are aimed at identifying the participants' creative abilities, their interest in Russian culture, and its place in the global space.

The Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov’s Lyceum was represented by Julia Saiko from the 11th grade "B" and Ekaterina Zaitseva from the 11th grade "G". We congratulate the students and the Russian language teacher, Vladimir Maksimovich Genkin, with special pride on their first-degree diplomas, which both participants earned. Ekaterina and Julia were also awarded valuable prizes from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.

This well-deserved and long-awaited victory is a bright confirmation of their determination, active life position, and hard work. We wish them not to rest on their laurels, strive for more, and conquer new heights.
