On March 3, the grand final and the awarding ceremony of the republican contest “100 Ideas for Belarus” took place in Minsk. In the ninth season of the competition, more than 500 young men and women aged 14 to 31, as well as young scientists under 35 took part. 47 qualifying rounds were held: zonal, regional, Minsk city, as well as the round of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
Students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technology of VSU Diana Biryukova and Alexander Shidlovsky became winners in the category “Medicine, pharmacy, medical equipment”.
Diana and Alexander suggested a smart cane option for seniors and people with disabilities. Among its characteristics is notification of close relatives via SMS in case of unforeseen situations, pressing the panic button, sending GPS coordinates at the location, and much more.
Graduates of the VSU joined the competition of youth startups for the second time. Last year, a laser engraver was presented, which was assembled from parts printed on a 3D printer. In this season there is a new development. Analogues of this device exist in the world, but VSU students have designed a more economical variant.
Graduate student of FMiIT Dmitry Dovgulevich presented in the final of the competition a telemechanics system based on LoRa technology. The approach used to build the LPWAN network is similar to the principle of mobile networks. To turn on the lamp it is necessary to extend the wires from the switch to the light bulb, but this is not always possible.
In total, the exposition of the exhibition-presentation “Idea Navigator” included more than 100 copyright developments - winners of the qualifying rounds of the contest “100 Ideas for Belarus” in 10 clusters: “Society, Economics and Social Sphere”, “Industrial and Construction Technologies and Production”, “Rational use of natural resources and deep processing of natural resources ”,“ Information and communication and aerospace technologies ”,“ Bio and nanoindustry ”,“ Energy, including nuclear energy and energy efficiency ”,“ Medicine, pharmacy, medical technology”,“ Chemical technologies, petrochemistry ”,“ National security and defense, protection against emergency situations ”, “Agro-industrial technologies and production”.
