On December 28 VSU students took part in Viennese Ball, which was held at Independence Palace. Students and those who are to choose a future career danced waltz. Everyone has already achieved special success in study, creativity and came out in elite sport.
Vitebsk State Masherov University was presented by:
Eugenia Kulakova, the student of Faculty of Social Pedagogics and Psychology;
Maria Petnyanos, the student of Faculty of Law;
Igor Semyonov, the student of Faculty of Biology;
Vladislav Khabakov, the student of Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports.
Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs Julia Bezhenar accompanied the students.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and a number of high officials attended the festive event.
Today this beautiful tradition is an object of UNESCO World Heritage. Debutants were first to enter the parquet and solemnly opened the ball. At the same time 72 couples started spinning in polonaise to the accompaniment of Presidential orchestra.
The emcee and the dancing master accompanied the ball. At the ball the participants could improve their choreographic skills. They held a workshop on the left-hand waltz, then there was an arbitrary part: ball games and guest performances. 187 pairs were dancing waltz.
