The idea of holding such an event came up with the leadership of ‘Erga Omnes’ the Student Club of the Department of Civil Law and Civil Procedure since the opening of the Club. And now, after half a year, it was implemented thanks to the support of the Council of Europe Information Point in Minsk, which acted as co-organizers of the event.

International Law Week is the first event of this magnitude at the law department of our university. To conduct it, 12 international experts from the Council of Europe, the European Court of Human Rights, the Court of the Eurasian Economic Court, The University of Liverpool (United Kingdom) and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees were involved.

The rector of the university, Aleksei Vladimirovich Egorov, opened the Week of International Law, noting the importance of holding such events for the law department.

For 5 days, students studied various aspects of European standards in the field of human rights protection, in particular the role of the Council of Europe in protecting human rights in the international arena, as well as the protection of refugees and migrants. It should be noted that all classes were interactive with work on real cases.

In addition, the participants of the International Law Week were lucky enough to receive invaluable information on free online education for lawyers from the Council of Europe, as well as to learn about the possibilities of participating in the most prestigious international mutcorts from the winners of these competitions!
