MEETING OF THE BELARUSIAN-CHINESE ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITIES
On October 14, the 3rd meeting of the Belarusian-Chinese Universities Association was held in Minsk. During the plenary session, held at the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, Rector of Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov Valentina Bogatyreva signed cooperation agreements with leading educational institutions of the People's Republic of China - Harbin Commercial University and Guizhou Normal University.
The plenary session also summarized the Association's activities, discussed key areas of Chinese-Belarusian cooperation in higher education and science, and identified development prospects and priorities for the coming year.
During the «Digital Technologies» section, held at the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, Valentina Bogatyreva moderated the session on behalf of Belarus and presented a paper on «Creating a Modern Educational and Laboratory Building as a Vector for Developing the Educational and Scientific Potential of P.M. Masherov Vitebsk State University».
In her speech, the VSU rector noted that the creation of the technology park is of strategic importance for the innovative development of the Vitebsk region and the Republic of Belarus as a whole. The new educational and laboratory building is designed to ensure a qualitative leap in personnel training, knowledge generation, and its transfer to the real sector of the economy, which is a key task for regional universities.
