In early June, the First Russia-Belarus Historians Forum was held in Moscow, with more than 100 scientists from universities and research centers of the Union State discussing topical issues affecting various aspects of the common past and historical memory of the peoples of Belarus and Russia, the formation of a single scientific and educational space and the strengthening of cooperation.

The grand opening of the Forum took place on June 2 at the Russian State University for the Humanities. Sections worked there. The plenary session was held on June 3 at the Institute of Scientific Information on Social Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It was attended by State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Fedorovich Mezentsev, Chairman of the Russian Historical Society Sergey Evgenyevich Naryshkin, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Konstantin Ilyich Mogilevsky, representatives of the Russian Academy of Sciences, as well as Director of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vadim Leonidovich Lakiza and Rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus Vyacheslav Viktorovich Danilovich. Greetings were read to the participants of the Forum by the Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus Igor Petrovich Sergeenko and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Fedorovich Aleinik. VSU named after P.M. Masherov as part of the Belarusian delegation at the Forum was represented by the head of the Department of History and Cultural Heritage of the Humanities and Linguistic Communications faculty, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Anatoly Nikolaevich Dulov, who took part in the sessions of two sections. In the section "Socio-economic and cultural development of Belarus in the Soviet period" the report ""Emancipation from above": the experience of resolving the women's issue in the BSSR in the 1920s" was read. Within the framework of the section “30 years of modern history. Russian-Belarusian interaction in the late XX - early XXI century. The search for points of convergence, the experience of cooperation, new trends and approaches in historiography, methodology, questions of historical terminology” Anatoly Nikolayevich shared his experience of the historical school of P.M. Masherov in the field of holding international scientific conferences, which have become an effective platform for communication between historians of Belarus and Russia. A.N. Dulov expanded contacts with representatives of the academic community of the Russian Federation, held negotiations to determine areas of possible cooperation, including the implementation of joint research projects.
